Honestly, we were just tired. We’re tired of having to choose between our modesty or our style. Tired of trying so hard adjusting pieces that were never designed for us in mind. Tired of feeling that we’re just stuck in between being bland or stand out in the wrong way.

So something has to change. So we stopped waiting and we created what we couldn’t find.

Born in a small quaint city of Kota Bharu, Roses & Thorns is built on a simple belief that modesty should not be limiting, and style should never feel out of reach. Every piece we designed is meant to do one thing, to allow ourselves to feel like ourselves without overthinking it.

We saw a gap in the industry where there aren’t a lot of choices for modest women everywhere to dress with the stylish & unique style but remain modest without having to modify the clothes themselves.

Most unique & stylish designs are created to cater to the wider and western-influenced audience. Loving to play dress up since we were little girls ourselves, we have personally experienced this difficulty of having to be creative ourselves to make sure we remained covered up.

The idea first came to life in 2021 and we hope to be able to keep bringing more good for value pieces that abide to this modest principle as we grow.
